4H All American: Four-Hand Video Poker with a Straights and Flushes Twist

4H All American is a multi-hand edition of All American, one of the classic video poker variants, with the 4H in the title standing for four hands played at once. All American is closely related to Jacks or Better, but its paytable is shaped differently: straights, flushes and straight flushes are rewarded more generously, while full houses and two pair pay less. That shift changes which hands are worth chasing, and the four-hand format makes every decision count four times over. You can learn the paytable in the free demo above.

How Four-Hand Video Poker Works

You choose a coin value and how many coins to bet per hand, then deal. Five cards appear in the main hand, and the same five cards are copied into the other three hands. You pick which cards to hold, and those holds apply to all four hands. When you draw, each hand receives its own replacement cards from a separate deck, so the four hands can finish very differently.

• Lowest paying hand is a pair of jacks or better
• Holds are made once and apply to every hand
• Each hand draws independently, giving four chances per deal
• Straights and flushes carry boosted payouts compared with Jacks or Better

Strategy Notes for All American

Because straights and flushes pay more, drawing to four-card straights and flushes becomes more attractive than in Jacks or Better, while two pair is less valuable. Players used to standard strategy should adjust their habits rather than relying on Jacks or Better charts. The four-hand format also smooths results a little, since one deal produces several outcomes, but it multiplies your stake by four, so the coin size should reflect that.

Who It Suits

This game is aimed at video poker players who already know the basics and want more action per deal. Beginners can still enjoy it, especially if they use the demo to see how the boosted paytable rewards different draws.

Verdict: a lively four-hand version of a classic variant with a paytable that favours straights and flushes. Study the paytable before playing, adjust your strategy accordingly, and set a session budget that accounts for four hands per deal.
