4 Beasts Mahjong: Maverick’s Mahjong-Themed Game Inspired by Chinese Legend

4 Beasts Mahjong is a casino game from Maverick, a studio that designs and builds its own titles in HTML5 for desktop and mobile play. Despite the name, this is not a traditional four-player mahjong match. It is a reel-based game that uses mahjong tiles and imagery from Chinese mythology, where the four beasts are the legendary guardians of the four directions. The result is a game that looks like a tile table but plays with the quick rounds of a slot, and the demo above lets you explore it without any commitment.

Gameplay at a Glance

Each round starts with choosing your stake and starting the game. Mahjong-style symbols land on the screen, and wins are paid when matching tiles line up according to the paytable. Several extra features are built in to keep sessions varied.

• Adjustable winlines, so you can decide how many lines to activate
• Free spins triggered by special symbols
• A progressive jackpot element
• An optional gamble feature after a win
• Autoplay for players who prefer not to click every round

Theme and Atmosphere

The four beasts of Chinese tradition, usually shown as the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird and Black Tortoise, give the game a strong cultural identity. Combined with mahjong tiles, the design will feel familiar to players who enjoy Asian-themed titles, while the gameplay itself requires no knowledge of real mahjong rules. That makes it more accessible than the name might suggest. The gamble feature is entirely optional and raises risk, so it is wise to use it sparingly or not at all.

Who Will Like It

4 Beasts Mahjong is best suited to players who enjoy Asian themes and like a game with a few features rather than a stripped-back experience. It works with small stakes, which makes it approachable for casual sessions. Players searching for a genuine tile-matching mahjong game should know that this is a casino-style game of chance, not a skill-based puzzle.

Verdict: a themed, feature-rich title that wraps slot-style play in mahjong tiles and Chinese legend. Explore it in the free demo first, understand the paytable, and play only with money you can comfortably spend on entertainment.
