Casino Hold’em is a modern variation of Texas Hold’em that has been created 20 years ago. It is based on standard poker rules. However, it is played against the dealer, not other players. Being a fast and easy table game, Casino Hold’em is played in online casinos around the world.

Casino Hold’em Bonus Bets

Casino Hold’em players can place an ante at the beginning of each game round. But it is also recommended to place a bonus bet that is evaluated on the first hand of five cards only. If players have a couple of aces or any other good combination to call, they can win the bonus bet. Here are ante and bonus bets paid out at different odds depending on the hands made by players:

If players don’t call the dealer’s bet after the first round, they lose their ante and any bonus bets.

How to Play Casino Hold’em?

Casino Hold’em involves a standard 52 card deck, unlike other casino table games. Its goal is to make the best five-card hand using two holes and five community cards. So it is important to learn the standard poker hand rankings in advance.

1. Royal FlushA♦ K♦ Q♦ J♦ 10♦  A, K, Q, J and 10 of the same suit
2. Straight Flush9♥ 8♥ 7♥ 6♥ 5♥  A straight of the same suit
3. Four-of-a-KindJ♦ J♣ J♠ J♥ K♦  Four cards of the same value and a side card.
4. Full HouseA♥ A♣ A♦ 9♠ 9♣  Three cards of the same value and two cards of another
5. FlushA♠ J♠ 8♠ 4♠ 3♠All cards of the same suit
6. Straight9♥ 8♠ 7♣ 6♦ 5♣  Five cards of consecutive value and of different suits

10. High CardA♠ J♦ 8♣ 6♠ 2♥Five cards that do not interact with each other and do not build up any other hands

To start the gameplay, all players sitting at the table receive two cards face down. To play their hand, they need to place exactly 2X their ante bet. Let’s say if their ante bet is $10 and they consider playing their hand, they will need to place $20 at stake. If they don’t consider placing a bet, they lose their ante. If they decide to skip the game, they are free to do so.

A fourth community card is placed in the middle of the table face up. If players decide to bet, their amount will be similar to an ante. This is the last opportunity to bet. Once the fifth card is revealed, players can’t place their bets anymore.

The dealer will then check over his cards to reveal the best five-card hand. The dealer will then ask each player to do the same – to form and reveal their best five-card hands.

If players have a better hand than the dealer, they will earn money for their bet in Casino Hold ’em. Otherwise, they will lose their bet along with an ante.

Casino Hold’em FAQ

How to deal with bonus jackpot wagers in Casino Hold’em?

If a player places a bonus jackpot bet, the dealer will check two cards to see if a player is eligible for the bonus. Normally, a pair or a particular card combination such as A-Q, A-K, or A-J must be present in the hand.

How cards are treated in Casino Hold’em?

The value of cards goes from highest to lowest: Ace (A), King (K), Queen (Q), Jack (J), 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2. In some cases, the Ace becomes the lowest card. All the suits – hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs – are treated equally in the game.

Why an ante bet must be kept low?

All bets can add up quickly by putting pressure on one’s bankroll. This is why it makes sense to keep an ante relatively low not to lose an opportunity to call later on.
