Andar Bahar Online: The Classic Indian Card Game in a Digital Version

Andar Bahar is one of the oldest and most popular card games in India, traditionally played at festivals and family gatherings. Its name means inside and outside, referring to the two sides of the table where cards are dealt. This online version, available to try free above, brings the game to a digital table so you can learn its simple rhythm at your own pace.

How a Round Works

A single standard deck is used. At the start of the round, one card is turned face up in the middle of the table; this is the joker or game card. You then bet on whether a card of the same rank will appear first on the Andar side or the Bahar side. Cards are dealt alternately to each side, one at a time, until a card matching the rank of the middle card appears. The side where it lands wins.

• Origin: traditional Indian card game
• Deck: one standard 52-card deck
• Main bets: Andar (inside) or Bahar (outside)
• Round ends: when a card matching the middle card’s rank is dealt

Why It Is So Popular

Andar Bahar needs no strategy knowledge and no card counting; the whole game is decided by the order of the deck. That simplicity makes it extremely approachable, and rounds can be over in seconds or stretch out for a tense run of cards. Many online versions also include side bets, for example on how many cards will be dealt before a match appears, which pay more but are harder to hit. The game’s help screen explains which bets this version offers and how they pay.

This is a great choice for players who want a fast, easy card game with a cultural twist, and for anyone who already knows Andar Bahar from home and wants to try a digital version. Because outcomes are pure chance, keep stakes moderate and avoid the idea that one side is due to win.
